Tony Khan confirms which match will go on last at Full Gear

During an interview on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW president Tony Khan confirmed that the I Quit Match will end the show at Full Gear.

Khan confirmed that Jon Moxley vs. Eddie Kingston will close the pay-per-view on Saturday night citing that he’s a proponent of the championship match going on last, with some exceptions:

Stadium Stampede was kind of different, the world title still went on last of the matches as the show stood. It would be hard to go back into the arena after we’ve done Stadium Stampede, it was just an “epic” and Moxley-Brodie Lee was one of our biggest title matches but even Jon didn’t want to go on after the Stadium Stampede. He (Moxley) was pretty adamant he didn’t want to go on last.

I think, in general, the world title should go on last – there are exceptions like the Stadium Stampede or maybe in Toronto with Hogan and The Rock where it doesn’t necessarily make sense but in this case, I think Eddie (Kingston) and Jon (Moxley) going on last makes a lot of sense.

At Double or Nothing, Moxley defended the title against Brodie Lee but the show-closing match was the well-received Stadium Stampede with The Inner Circle facing The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page & Matt Hardy.

Below is the card for AEW Full Gear this Saturday night with the Buy-In airing at 7 pm Eastern:
*AEW Championship, I Quit Match: Jon Moxley (champion) vs. Eddie Kingston
*AEW Tag Team Championship: FTR (champions) vs. The Young Bucks
*TNT Championship: Cody (champion) vs. Darby Allin
*AEW Women’s Championship: Hikaru Shida (champion) vs. Nyla Rose
*World Title Eliminator Tournament Finals: Kenny Omega vs. Hangman Page
*Elite Deletion: Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara
*If MJF wins, he can join The Inner Circle: Chris Jericho vs. MJF
*Orange Cassidy vs. John Silver
*NWA Women’s Championship: Serena Deeb (champion) vs. Allysin Kay (Buy-In pre-show)

Actually disappointed. It was a perfect opportunity to end with the Tag Titles.

Normally I have a hard time getting into a Moxley main event (though to be fair I think its more so because of the matchups he’s been having), but this is one I’m actually in to.
