Tony Khan discusses TNT details, Kylie Rae, Pac, Jon Moxley & more

Tony Khan spoke to members of the media after All Out and fielded a wide array of questions concerning the show, the pending launch on TNT, and other goals for the group.

Khan is expecting Pac to be part of AEW moving forward and indicated he was hopeful of having him appear at the show even prior to Jon Moxley’s injury. Because of Moxley’s MRSA infection in his elbow, Pac took his spot against Kenny Omega. Khan added there is no timetable yet for Moxley’s return.

He confirmed that Kylie Rae has been released from the company after she requested it and categorized it as “amicable”. Khan did not go into detail regarding the reasoning behind Rae’s request.

The TNT show will have its own name and doesn’t want the confusion of having the promotion’s name and show title being identical. They are also planning to tape content before and after the two-hour show for those in the arena with the potential of using that content on other platforms.

The broadcasting team doesn’t seem to be finalized yet, with the addition of Tony Schiavone and what the regular team will be. Khan said there has been a demand for people to hear Jim Ross and Schiavone call matches together, and Schiavone stated during his panel discussion with Cody that he would call matches with Ross.

Due to Schiavone’s schedule, he won’t be at “Full Gear” on November 9th and Alex Mendez will be part of that broadcast.

Khan never wanted the television show to compete with the NFL and with TNT’s commitments with the NBA on Tuesdays, it made Wednesday nights the natural fit. They will run year-round on TNT except for the week of Christmas, which falls on a Wednesday this year. That would mean they’ll likely be running a live show on New Year’s Day the following week.

He also expects Tully Blanchard to remain attached to Shawn Spears and was very high on Nyla Rose.

Finally, the Young Bucks noted in their scrum that Saturday’s ladder match was the last time they would feature the AAA tag titles with their own titles being introduced and to avoid confusion with multiple tag titles. Khan said they have a good relationship with AAA and expects the two sides to exchange talent on occasion.

The news about Kylie Rae made me look up more news, and I saw on Pro Wrestling Sheet that shortly after Double or Nothing, she deactivated her social media and pulled out of a few bookings. No concrete reason as to why, but that’s clearly her business, and I hope she’s doing well.

There was also a lot of hub-bub over Pharaoh coming out during Cody’s entrance. Some pyro had gone off, and the poor dog was clearly scared. Fortunately, he was doing okay afterward. Cody claimed the pyro was a mistake, Brandi wasn’t happy about it, and neither was Tony Khan, who because of this made sure the horse Adam Page rode out on was safely corralled before Chris Jericho’s pyro went off.
