According to Top Dolla, there was an idea for Cole to win their match.
On Thursday, September 21st, a wave of talents were released from WWE. Among those that were released was A.J. Francis a.k.a. Top Dolla. The Hit Row member was the sole member of the group to be cut. Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis and B-Fab are still with the company and worked a dark match prior to the 9/22 SmackDown.
While responding to an ‘X’ user, Francis commented on the back and forth between himself and lead commentator Michael Cole. He noted that Cole was game for a program and he wanted to put Cole over.
He claims they talked about it at length and the idea was tossed out there of Cole winning their match with a small package.
I offered to put Cole over & he wanted to do it too… we talked about it at length of how we could build it… even had him winning by a small package out of a stalling suplex… they didn’t care beyond having him drag me every week… which made ppl talk about me so I loved it
