Trinity Fatu spoke about leaving WWE and her first experience working for IMPACT Wrestling.
In her first interview since leaving WWE, Trinity Fatu (formerly ‘Naomi’) appeared on Busted Open Radio and called the last year “life-changing”.
Along with Mercedes Varnado a.k.a. ‘Sasha Banks’, the two left the arena where WWE Raw was being held prior to a match that both were set to be part of. WWE issued a statement and condemned the two on the air for walking out with the two performers not responding publicly to the company’s actions.
On Wednesday, Fatu stated the following about her decision to walk out of Raw last year:
“Ultimately, I left that day because of the way I was talked to and handled. Everything broke me that day. It had nothing to do with anything else, anybody else, that was just it, I had to.”
Fatu and Varnado held the women’s tag titles, which were vacated for several months before being re-introduced on WWE television.
In the chat with Busted Open, Fatu stated that due to the lie and rumors that circulated, she felt the lowest she had ever felt, and was a difficult time for her.
She also revealed that during her last year in WWE, she worked with a torn labrum and had shoulder surgery during her time off over the past year.
This past weekend Fatu made her IMPACT Wrestling debut at the television tapings at Cicero Stadium in Chicago with her debut set to air on Thursday night on AXS TV.
