The UFC has confirmed that UFC 277 will take place from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on July 30th.

The card will be headlined by the rematch between Julianna Pena (11-4) and Amanda Nunes (21-5) for the women’s bantamweight with the two serving as coaches on the current season of Ultimate Fighter.

Pena pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history last December at UFC 269 by submitting Nunes, who was exhausted in the second round. It was Nunes’ first loss since September 2014 and ended her championship reign that began in July 2016.

This card will also feature the interim flyweight title fight between Brandon Moreno (19-6-2) and Kai Kara-France (24-9, 1 NC) as regular champion Deiveson Figueiredo has a finger injury and is hopeful of fighting by the end of 2022.

Moreno lost the title to Figueiredo in his fight at UFC 270 this past January and was the third fight involving the two flyweights, who each have a win and a draw against the other. France is coming off wins against Rogerio Bontorin, Cody Garbrandt, and Askar Askarov.

The main card is very strong including Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich at heavyweight, Luke Rockhold’s return against Paulo Costa in a middleweight contest, and a light heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Magomed Ankalaev.

Rockhold, 37, has not fought since July 2019 with only three fights since his title loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 six years ago.

Ankalaev has won his previous eight fights and would be in contention for a championship fight if he beats Smith.

The preliminary card will include Justin Tafa vs. Don’Tale Mayes, Rafael Alves vs. Drew Dober, Diego Ferreira vs. Drakkar Klose, Michael Morales vs. Ramiz Brahimaj, Ji Yeon Kim vs. Mariya Agapova, and Ihor Potieria vs. Nicolae Negumereanu.

The UFC 277 card is taking place the same night as SummerSlam as WWE and UFC will be going head-to-head with both of their pay-per-view events on July 2 & 30.
