Two NJPW ‘Strong Style Evolved UK’ Shows announced

NJPW’s UK partner Rev Pro announced two UK Strong Style Evolved shows for this summer.

Any UK folk planning on grabbing tickets? How likely do you think we are to get the real big names, Omega/Okada/Naito etc.?

I’ll be going to Altrincham (hopefully)
I assume the lineup will be pretty strong – similar to the Australia tour. They had most of the big stars (possibly missing Naito?) with most of the shows being majority tags.

The Australian tour included a lot of big names (Okada, Omega, Suzuki, Ishii) but also missed some key names (Naito, Ibushi, Tanahashi, Yano). There were also no New Japan referees and announcers which I wasn’t a fan of (John and Wai touched in the Long Beach review on the importance for the NJPW experience to keep these authentic details). The Long Beach shows have to me come across as more true NJPW events (even though, for understandable reasons, there’s been more westerners than usual on top of the cards). Hopefully the UK shows will bear more similarities with the Long Beach ones. The usage of the same titling indicates this. Plus, the market in the UK should be way bigger than the Australian. However, I would still expect a lot of mixed in Rev Pro talent. Like a Global Wars but with solely usage of the NJPW logo.

Yeah, I’m going to the UK show on the 30th of June and I can’t wait!
The shows should be really good.
I like the fact that they’re using Rev Pro talent as I’m a huge fan of Rev Pro and by going to some of their big York Hall shows I have been able to discover New Japan.
If anyone is going to the Milton Keynes show it would be cool to maybe meet up as it would be a great way to meet some of our fellow Post Wrestling community members.

Got floor tickets for Manchester this morning. Really looking forward to it. Going to the ring of honor tour the month before in Doncaster as well.

Our presale link hasn’t arrived yet. Hopefully gets sorted out soon. I’ll cry if I miss this

I’m going to the MK one, not that familiar with NJPW, as i’m just starting to get into the indie style wrestling, i’m really excited, i’ve seen a few Wcpw, and seen 2 njpw wrestlers, but excited to see a whole show, showing off Japan’s best, so hopefully this means I’ll be paying for NJPW world

A friend of mine messaged me the morning of the presale and we had tickets for our little group within about ten minutes of learning about the shows. Going the the Manchester show, which is actually Altrincham but I get why their calling it Manchester. There’s no actual RevPro branding on the promotion that I’ve seen so I’m assuming that, other than their helping out with the booking of venues and using some of the talent (like ROH and MCW do/have) these are full New Japan shows in the UK.

I can only hope we’re getting Naito. He’s my current favourite wrestler and I would love to see him wrestle in person. I’d be happy with up not even getting Okada as long as we get Naito. I expect Suzuki just because he strikes me as the kind of guy that loves wrestling all over the world, plus he and ZSJ are the RevPro tag champs and it makes sense they’d be on these shows; I just really wanna sing along with his theme song. I’m trying my best to not even think about the possibility that the Golden Lovers might be there because if they aren’t I’m just going to be disappointed.

I’m going to Milton Keynes, it’s been announced that 14 NJPW guys will be there as well as some Rev Pro regulars. Also, no Kenny, Ibushi or Young Bucks. Also headed to ROH in London.

where’s that been announced?

Rev Pro announced the number of guys. Kenny and Ibushi are confirmed for a New Japan event in the US that day, and the Bucks have said they have ROH commitments that weekend.

Is the next NJPW US show not the week after these?

I could be well off on this, but the MK show is Saturday, the day after this, traveling is surely possible?

Rev Pro are claiming big names on their twitter account

Rev Pro saying 14 Japanese natives, plus other NJPW roster guys that aren’t Japanese (Jay White was brought up as an example)

Blimey, i’ll let you deliver that schedule to the guys!

Lots of guys announced for this over the last few days!
Kazuchika Okada
Tomohiro Ishii
Taiji Ishimori
Minoru Suzuki
Toru Yano
Yuji Nagata
Will Ospreay
Taichi
Jay White
Shota Umino
Zack Sabre Jr

Yeah, it looks to be building up to a great show.
I can’t wait to see who else is announced!

Okada, Ishii and Suzuki make this totally worth it for me, even if we are missing LIJ and bullet club. I assume they’ll have a few rev pro guys there too?
