Tyrus thinks it'd be nice to do a one-off for WWE or get to say goodbye to the fan base

He added that his future is in NWA and can’t really see that changing.

The reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus is going to be defending his title on April 7th at NWA’s ‘312’ pay-per-view against Chris Adonis.

Tyrus has been in possession of the championship since the Hard Times pay-per-view in November 2022. Going into his next title defense, he promoted the match in his chat with Fox News Digital

He did state that it would be nice to have a one-off for WWE or have the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans. He went on to add that he feels his future is with NWA, does not see that changing and he’ll likely finish his career there.

It’s one of those things where, like, I think because I started there (WWE), it would be nice to go back and say goodbye. But as far as a long-term run or anything like that, no, I’m not interested in that anymore. I’ll probably finish my career in the NWA, but it would be nice to come back and have a one-off or just say goodbye to the fans. Where I started in the WWE is a big part of my success and, again, like I said, a lot of it has to do with scheduling. I’m pretty busy with Fox and there are no part-time jobs in the WWE. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. I was with WWE on two different occasions, and on the second occasion, I did a lot of great things and really proud (about) that. So, if I never went back, no sweat. If I did, it’d be a nice close to a chapter and to move on. But my future is with the NWA for the time being, and I can’t really see that changing.

NWA owner Billy Corgan weighed in on the controversy that surrounds Tyrus’ name and why he thinks most of it is ‘political’. To read more, check out POST Wrestling’s article about the topic.

He could always go back to WWE and build his character up and go back to the NWA. Tyrus is one of the best things going. He’s got a TV show, guest spots on various shows, books, holds the NWA world’s heavyweight championship, and quite frankly he could be the greatest NWA world’s heavyweight champion ever

Welcome to the board Tyrus!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I haven’t heard one dang thing about Tyrus ever popping up in WWE again. Swoggle has made post-release appearances, and I’m happy about that. Tyrus can eat it.
