You know, I’ve gotten used to these empty arena cards, and honestly, it doesn’t take away too much from my enjoyment of the UFC product, but it was strange seeing Stipe and DC fighting in the UFC Apex in front of no one.

  • Stipe/DC is undoubtably one of the greatest trilogies in MMA history. All three fights delivered. Miocic has to be looked at as one of the greatest fighters of all time, regardless of division now. His resume is as impressive as you’ll ever see at heavyweight.
  • A tough (potential) end to Daniel Cormier’s hall of fame career. Hopefully, there is no permanent damage suffered from that nasty eye gouge. Both these guys are walking out of this trilogy with considerably worse eyesight.
  • It seems as though it was a leg kick from Vera that hurt O’Malley’s leg. If this is the case, that’s as legit of a win as you can get. Wouldn’t mind seeing him fight Dvalishvili next.
  • JDS looked better then he has in quite some time, but it was his old bad habits that led to Rozenstruik knocking him out. I’d like to see Rozenstruik fight Curtis Blaydes next.

All in all, a decent card. The next PPV looks brutal, but the main event might be my most anticipated fight of the year thus far. Of course, COVID will probably have this card looking entirely different come September.
