I have a question for anyone who has seen the Mandalorian. I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies outside of the original when I was a kid. Are the movies required viewing for the show? Or do you need the movies for backstory?

I don’t think so. I’ve heard of people who’ve never seen any Star Wars that were able to enjoy it. A lot of the big moments are original trilogy references anyway.

I have non Star Wars fans who loved the end of season 2. As a Star Wars fan those last 4 episodes are better than anything in the last 30 years

Agree with the sentiments in the thread. I’ve seen just about everything Star Wars, but feel fondest about the original trilogy, and I think you can run straight out of Return of the Jedi and dive into The Mandalorian and probably feel better about the franchise than many of us who’ve consumed the stuff in between. Hope you like it!
