Video Games

It was just announced. AJ Styles is the cover artist for WWE2K19. Looking like he’s about to throw a hadouken.

My love of video games was what led me to pro wrestling. The year was 1998-ish, and…

I was 10 or 11 years old playing video games with a group of kids when someone busted out WWF War Zone for the PS1. Had never really been in to wrestling and didn’t know much about it, but as a Canadian I was familiar with Bret Hart so I chose him. I’ll never forget when buddy chose Steve Austin and explained how he was the toughest guy in the world, that he couldn’t explain it and I had to see it to believe it. Some months later I was flipping channels at night and there he was; Steve Austin on tv and man he was pissed. Seconds later The Rock threw him off a bridge (!!!) and the program went off the air. Busted out the TV guide, made sure to find out what this show was and when it started next week and the rest is history. (Austin ran over the Rock’s car next week at his own funeral, in my first complete viewing of a Raw)

With the new WWE games putting more of an emphasis on simulating wrestling rather than making a fun video game, I feel like they’re shooting themselves in the foot. WCW didn’t even air in Canada, but everyone loved World Tour and then Revenge to the point where people with no other reason to have an interest in wrestling were aware of it and the stars of WCW. If they made a really fun brawling game with some crazy stuff happening (and fixed the commentary or got rid of it completely), they could expand their video game market to beyond the scope of just wrestling fans and maybe even allow some new people to discover a love of pro wrestling.

I recently bought a Switch and am playing LoZ, and Skyrim which I’ve now purchased for the fourth time over three systems. I am a mark for Skyrim.

Smackdown vs Raw 2006 was a sleeper hit! I loved the gameplay for that game! I’m really like fire pro world and I will buy it again for PS4. I’m also looking forward the Spiderman game as well.

Anyone here into the Yakuza series? I’m a newcomer and have been playing them totally out of order, but the announcement that they’re bringing the first two to PC has me really excited. I did a bit of reading on Yakuza 6 and found out some of the NJPW stars (Okada, Naito, Tanahashi, Tenzan, Kojima and Yano) are recruitable into your gang. It looks awesome, and I’m very excited to give it a try.

gaming is my passion. Right now I play roulette games, they are really entertaining. Since I found info how to play roulette at home I started winning more often. Roulettes are one of the most popular casino games in the world. Now I know a fun way to gamble and potentially win some money without risking too much. As for me roulettes are one of the most popular casino games in the world.

Right now me and my son play a lot of FIFA. It’s so nice when your kids start to get into it a little. However worse when they beat you :joy:

Funny seeing this post from 4 1/2 years ago. I did eventually get a PS5 to play Marvel’s Spider-Man and I can say it is one of the best video games I’ve ever played. The storyline, looks, fluid movement and intuitive H.U.D. were all incredibly well done.

I’m playing Gotham Knights right now and it’s nowhere near as good in any way even though the game is 3-4 years newer and developed for next gen systems. It’s had some fun moments though so I’m going to at least finish the main story.

I played Clash of Clans for years and had fun with it. But never spent any money on it. So eventually it got to the point where it would take a week of saving up gold just to upgrade one wall. I started to just get bored of it.

I eventually switched over to Clash Royale and have now played that for years as well. But I’m. now at the same point where it takes too long grinding for gold and resources and I’m loosing interest in it as well.

Been playing Super Mario Bros., Sonic Trilogy and Chrono Trigger on my Anbernic.

Exact same thing here. I still have it on my phone, but I refuse to pay and I’m when you have to wait weeks to upgrade one thing it kind of kills the fun. I just jump on every month or so and upgrade my stuff based on what my collectors naturally accumulate during that time.
