I think i have watched enough WWE in the last month or so.
I just realized this today as well. I can chalk this up in part to how busy my personal/professional life has been, but no matter the reason, this the first PPV in the WWE Network era that I’ve completely forgotten about.
Usually plan around Sunday night shows and think about a meal and what I want while watching. I made dinner plans tonight with no hesitation. I am becoming apathetic to so many WWE shows with same ol sh*t cards
One of the biggest benefits to the WWE Network is that I don’t feel like I need to watch these shows live. I will be watching HBO tonight. But then if I see on Twitter there was a really good match or John and Wai rave about the show I can go back and watch it.
I actually don’t think it will be a bad show. For the past year the WWE shows that seemed like B-PPVs ended up overdelivering with some really good matches and it’s actually their most hyped 4hr shows that can’t live up to expectations.
I think a lot of us have some good reason to be burnt out too. There’s not been really a break in content at all since Mania weekend, there’s been hours upon hours upon hours of shows and all sorts of crap. I’m taking a wee bit of a break from it all myself and it’s not because the product is garbage - I really don’t think it is for the most part. I just think I’ve sen too much.
My WWE Network sub had lapsed and I thought about skipping this one and waiting till takeover Chicago to re-subscribe. But I caved and ordered and kind of regret it now the show is over. The IC match was really good but other than that there wasn’t much to this ppv.
I resubscribed for mania and canceled during this show. I am done with WWE. I may still have RAW and Smackdown on in background but I just dont give a shit for the about them anymore. Only thing I liked about tonight was Carmella wining.
Well I was wrong. That was one of the worst ppv’s WWE has put on in a loooonnnggg time. Im glad I watched West World.
I’m not going to overreact though and cancel my subscription or stop watching. There is still NXT and the next show is MITB which I think WWE does see as a big show. Maybe I’m a sucker for just always being hopeful that the next show will be better but it doesn’t hurt me any. I think I would be a lot more miserable if I hated every show.
