Walker Stewart will be the new lead commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s English broadcasts.
The 21-year-old Stewart confirmed a previous report from the Super J Cast that he will assume the role as Kevin Kelly winds down to concentrate on his AEW duties.
Kelly had previously stated he would be calling Wrestle Kingdom and New Year Dash in January.
Stewart will make his debut for NJPW calling Fighting Spirit Unleashed on October 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a message from Stewart, he thanked Kelly and Bob Evans for their guidance.
It’s official, and here’s my statement.
I’m excited to connect further with NJPW fanatics across the world as we dive deeper into our loves for professional wrestling.
See you soon @njpwglobal 👋
