NXT 2.0. experienced a dramatic drop for this week’s episode as the show fell under 700,000 viewers and saw a 30 percent loss in the key demo.

The September 28th episode averaged 655,000 viewers and approximately 183,000 viewers (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, per Showbuzz Daily and Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

It represented a drop of 12 percent in overall viewers and 30 percent in the 18-49 demographic from last week’s episode. The show was advertised around the NXT Women’s Championship match between Raquel Gonzalez and Franky Monet, which had been delayed by several weeks.

The only demographic that held up were adults over 50, which was even from the prior week. Every other major demo on Showbuzz Daily had significant declines led by females 12-34 dropping 67 percent, adults 18-34 dropping by 50 percent, and females 18-49 falling by 44 percent.

The first two weeks of NXT 2.0 saw the show average 758,000 viewers and 268,000 in 18-49, so this week was a major fall and indicative of the freshness of the brand wearing off from those fans that were curious to see the changes to the product.

The cable charts were led by MTV’s Teen Mon, FOX News programming, and Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules. The top network program on Tuesday was NBC’s The Voice followed by La Brea on the same network, and ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise.

NXT finished 32nd among all cable programming on Tuesday.

Throwing out the two August editions of NXT that aired on Syfy, it was NXT’s lowest viewership since the August 17th show and their lowest 18-49 figure since June 29th.

In Canada, NXT averaged 58,300 viewers and 20,400 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. They went against the Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees, which was the most-watched sports broadcast of the night with more than 1.28 million viewers. For NXT, their viewership was up from the previous week’s average of 45,600 but the demo dropped by 21 percent from 25,800 last week.
