New Japan Pro Wrestling has named four competitors who will compete to become the next challenger for Kenny Omega’s IWGP United States Championship.
The field includes Will Ospreay, who is currently rehabbing a shoulder injury.
Two qualifying matches have been announced to take place in the US, with the winners facing off in Japan at NJPW Dominion on June 4th.
In the first match, at NJPW Collision in Philadelphia next Sunday, Lance Archer will go up against Juice Robinson.
The second match is scheduled for NJPW Resurgence in Long Beach on May 21st, with Will Ospreay facing Hiroshi Tanahashi.
The winners of those matches will meet at Osaka Jo Hall for Dominion, with the eventual victor becoming the next challenger for Omega’s US Title.
That title match has not yet been scheduled. However, Forbidden Door takes place shortly after Dominion in Toronto, Ontario on June 25th.
