Will Ospreay’s final match with New Japan Pro Wrestling will take place next month in Osaka inside a steel cage.

At New Year Dash, a five-on-five match between the United Empire and Bullet Club War Dogs was thrown out due to weapon use and the War Dogs destroying the ringside area with multiple men bleeding and causing a chaotic scene.

After the match, Ospreay stated his last match in NJPW before joining AEW full-time would take place on February 11 at New Beginning in Osaka.

Ospreay issued a challenge for a five-on-five match with the War Dogs able to choose the stipulation.

David Finlay chose a steel cage match, a rarity in NJPW with only one previous cage match in the company’s history.

In 2004, Hiroshi Tanahashi faced Kazunari Murakami in a steel cage, which was an empty arena match.

It's Saturday, March 28 in Japan!#onthisday in 2004, an unprecedented empty arena cage match saw a score settled between U-30 champion Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazunari Murakami!

Ospreay signed with AEW but has said he will not be done with NJPW and is expected to make sporadic appearances while contracted with AEW, which has a partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
