Regal further credits Danielson for him coming to All Elite Wrestling.

At the 2022 AEW Revolution pay-per-view, William Regal made his debut which led to the formation of the partnership between Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

Fast forward to present day, that partnership is now know as the Blackpool Combat Club and consists of Regal, Danielson, Moxley, ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta.

Regal guest appeared on the latest edition of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast and expressed that there is no one else that could have got him to come to All Elite Wrestling other than Danielson.

I wouldn’t be there .

I was just asked to come, Bryan asked me. If he hadn’t asked, I still wouldn’t be there. He asked me to come and it was, ‘Yeah, that sounds like fun’ because I’ve just been — you know, I was quite happy, I wanted a year off. I’ve done nothing but wrestling since — I was full-time since I was 16. The only time I’ve been off is when I’ve been ill or injured and really ill.

Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta is scheduled for in-ring competition on 8/3. He’ll be facing Chris Jericho and if Yuta wins, he gets Jericho’s Interim AEW World Title opportunity against Jon Moxley at ‘Quake By The Lake’ on 8/10.
