During the 3/3 episode of NXT on USA Network, it was stated that NXT GM William Regal would be making a ‘major’ announcement on this week’s program. As tonight’s WWE Raw was ongoing, Tom Phillips stated that Regal will be making a second announcement as well.

The announcements were labeled as ‘game-changing’.

It was noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is a plan in place to introduce NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. WWE has not confirmed that to be happening.

Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez challenged Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles last week but after the initial official was taken out of the match, Adam Pearce made his way to the ring with a Raw official to call the match. Dakota Kai had been choked out by Shayna Baszler but Kai was not the legal competitor.

Possibilities… Women’s tag titles. The time slot move to Tuesday nights, and maybe that paired with the announcement of another iteration of NXT born from the scraps of Evolve. Or 205 Live is going to be 1 hour on USA on Wednesday nights now? I can’t see WWE abandoning Wednesday nights completely.

Yeah, NXT needs more titles. It’s been a while since they’ve had a ladder match so they should probably crown the new champs in that style of match.

The other possibility is they may have signed Christian :yum:

The NXT EVOLVE project has been in the works for a while, with some stuff already filmed, so announcing all of a sudden there will be two game-changing proclamations instead of one (with that initial one being a cause of that tag title match) makes me think it won’t be that. I imagine they’re announcing the formation of NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, and then the 2-night Takeover and/or night change.
