World of Sport, a name associated with British wrestling for decades, is reportedly set for another reboot.

Dave Meltzer has reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (paid content) that the consortium which owns the brand is considering options for a relaunch.

The World of Sport (WOS) brand ownership is headed up by the Goldsmith family, which has a long history with professional wrestling in the UK. Harvey and Martin Goldsmith promoted World Wrestling Federation events and merchandise in the UK and Europe in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The Goldsmiths were also involved in the WOS Wrestling TV revival in 2018.

Meltzer reported that the WOS brand owners are considering a studio-based wrestling show along the lines of NWA Power, as well as running live events. It is thought that they see a gap in the market after the closing of NXT UK.

World of Sport was originally a block of mixed sports programming in the UK on ITV every Saturday afternoon. Professional wrestling was a linchpin of the show.

WOS Wrestling was revived as a brand, first as a pilot show in 2016, and then as a 10-episode series in 2018, which was not renewed.
