I know people weren’t so hot on the build to this show… But four matches in on the main card, and once again, it’s been a home run.
This three-way has been unbelievable. An absolute star-making performance for Takeshita.

That Prince Nana coffee is damn expensive
MVP shows again how he’s still such a believable and effective manager.
Yeah I’m here live. That three-way was unreal and some nice surprise appearances. The card has totally overdelivered
Annnnnd the Bucks match has killed the crowd
They should have pulled the trigger on Private Party.
The crowd has been fantastic all night.
They really should have. Crowd eventually got into them. That finish was a downer
Didn’t watch - seems like the main event ending was a let down?
Not at all.
It was the ending most expected. Mox beat Bryan, and the BCC assaulted him and the locker room. It was a downer ending, but a very satisfactory one to the match and card.
It had Bryan’s fingerprints all over it and it was laid out fantastically. Fans were ready for Danielson to lose but not this way. Nobody expected it to be like that. Just a brutal reality. Bryan gave us a happy ending at Wembley. This was purely the epilogue.
Exactly. Wembley was Bryan’s happy season finale. This is how the new season starts.
I was definitely feeling the length of this show from the Young Bucks match onward. I personally would have put the Hologram match and the Jericho match on Dynamite or something, but the crowd was hot for the whole show so who am I to say?
Every match delivered, even the ones I was tired for eventually picked me back up again, but the mood of the show felt more like a special Dynamite versus a pay per view. Just didn’t feel like the builds for any of these matches were at a particular high point.
That ending angle was outrageous. Excalibur crying sold the angle so well, honestly had me a little verklempt, I wonder if that’s Bryan retiring(?) that hit him hard. I’m really loving the new BCC. I’m personally disappointed that they turned Yuta, for one because I thought Yuta would benefit from being the successor to Bryan and one of the main rivals of the new BCC, and secondly, it makes the new BCC look too much like the old BCC. But the main event scene looks so exciting right now and I hope they can live up to its potential.
Also, them putting the AEW title in the bag has my Shane McMahon senses tingling and for the love of god don’t do it! Not against Shane being in AEW but not like this. Please not like this.
One weird thing I just realized - heels now hold every single title in AEW. That seems less than ideal.
Do they turn Renee Paquette heel? I think the turn would be both ambitious and amazing. A heel backstage/biased correspondent chastising the babyfaces would be hilarious.
Nothing will improve the presentation of AEW more than the Young Bucks being off TV
Okay Alex. Thanks for the suggestion.
Here’s a very reputable source who seems to not have liked the ending. I’m sure he’s unbiassed as well.
Hahahahahahaha…
Yes, Brian Last, long known for being… Checks notes… Having an unbiased opinion of AEW.
Alex, watch the show and form your own opinions, or stop talking.
The hyperbolic nature of these people would be like movie critics going off on Empire Strikes Back or Infinity War as being the worst endings to a movies ever.
