WrestleMania 40 tickets went on general sale on Friday and sales have already beaten WWE’s all-time gate record, according to a prominent sports business analyst.

Darren Rovell of The Action Network and previously ESPN posted the following on social media:

JUST IN: WrestleMania 40 went on sale today and has already broken WWE’s all-time gate record ($21.5M at WrestleMania 39 in LA).

More than 90,000 tickets sold so far to the two-day event at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in April 2024.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics touched on possible comparisons between the single-day AEW All event at Wembley Stadium in London, and the two-day WrestleMania.

This must be WWE’s answer if AEW at Wembley comes up: They’ve already sold 90,000 and Wrestlemania is still 7+ months away.

All In might not reach 90,000 paid. Gate will be huge but well short of $21.5M.

2-day vs 1-day is far enough into the weeds for media and B2B consumption. https://t.co/Efv9CRgAZT
