WWE cancels May NXT UK TV tapings, postpones UK SmackDown tour

The Coronavirus outbreak has continued to affect the world on various fronts and specifically on the topic of the pro wrestling, the industry continues to be affected as well. The latest example of that is WWE deciding to postpone their SmackDown UK tour next month which was a part of the yearly post-WrestleMania tour. The tour has been moved to October of this year and one date has been moved to April of 2021. Below are the new dates:

-Glasgow, Scotland: October 7th
-Birmingham, England: October 4th
-Cardiff, Wales: October 5th
-Sheffield, England: October 6th
-London, England, Friday Night SmackDown: October 9th
-Newcastle, England: April 30th, 2021

Also, the post-NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin tapings for the NXT UK brand were cancelled. The tapings were going to be held in Bournemouth, England on May 1st and 2nd. NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin was scheduled for April 26th.

NXT founder and senior producer Paul “Triple H” Levesque appeared on The Pat McAfee Show last week and said that he’s hoping to get back to the United Kingdom so production for NXT UK can resume. As of this week, NXT UK will strictly be a highlight-based show until they are able to tape shows again.
