During Monday’s episode of Raw, the WWE championship match at Survivor Series was set following Brock Lesnar’s return to the show.

Lesnar kicked off the show with Paul Heyman in search of Rey Mysterio leading to a series of scenes throughout the show of Lesnar mauling people in the back and attacking announcer Dio Maddin with an F-5 through the announcer’s desk.

This climaxed with Mysterio appearing and attacking Lesnar with a bat to the knee followed by a belt shot with the WWE championship. Mysterio issued the challenge for the Survivor Series with the match officially added to the show.

Prior to the Survivor Series, the two had a pair of singles matches during Lesnar’s original WWE run with matches on SmackDown in October 2002 and December 2003.

Brand split lasted long…

What are you talking about? They’re both Raw guys.

It’s usually brand vs brand so I think WWE may have given away the WM main event being Brock vs Fiend thus the lack of a match here.

Nah they just booked themselves into a corner again. With Brand vs Brand vs Brand, they never should have put the title on either Brock or Fiend and certainly not both. Makes you think NXT was added only very recently.
