WWE has confirmed that SummerSlam will take place Saturday, August 21st but has not released the information regarding the location of the event.

It was reported on Thursday by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast that the event would take place on that date, a departure from usual WWE pay-per-views occurring on Sundays. The date coincides with the recently announced fight between Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr. that takes place that night from Las Vegas, Nevada.

In its press release, WWE only stated that SummerSlam would take place from a “summer destination location” with the announcement to be made during the Belmont Stakes pre-race show on NBC on Saturday, June 5. Tickets for SummerSlam will be going on sale on June 18th.
