WWE is returning to Montreal for back-to-back events in 2023 including the Elimination Chamber premium live event.

The promotion issued a press release on Monday stating that the Bell Centre will host Elimination Chamber on Saturday, February 18th along with Friday Night SmackDown the night prior.

It is the first time a pay-per-view event will be staged in Montreal since WWE Breaking Point in September 2009.

The event will take place three weeks after the Royal Rumble and sees Elimination Chamber returning to North America after being staged in Saudi Arabia this past year.

Based on WWE’s ten-year contract with the General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia, it calls for two events per year in the country.

Tickets for Friday Night SmackDown and Elimination Chamber will go on sale Friday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. ET.

This is disappointing. I thought they were doing away with the gimmick shows. I was hoping for something new and fresh or even an older event to be brought back and these gimmick matches thrown onto a show throughout the year.

If used properly, I think the elimination chamber Is an awesome concept. My issue with it was always the fact that they didn’t use it to name the other number #1 contender, but they would have the champ defend their title instead.

If the rumble names the mens #1 contender, and the woman’s rumble names one of the #1 contenders (since they have two belts) I would love it if they just did one EC and had the mania match on the line for the other title.

I think most fans would enjoy that, chamber matches are always good.

I love the Chamber match. I just hate gimmick events. Elimination Chamber, Extreme Rules, TLC, Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank can all be tossed in my opinion. You can still have any of those matches ar any creatively named event.

Yeah I was hoping that the Elimination Chamber would be used for Summer Slam or Survivor Series as a big attraction to those shows.

I agree for all of the above except elimination chamber and rumble….I just like those two as lead ins to mania.

I hate TLC, Extreme rules, Hell in a cell etc as PPV events.
