WWE live events in Ohio and Toronto are cancelled

Two WWE live events have been taken off the schedule this weekend due to the measures being taken regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

The Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio and the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto have each issued statements announcing the WWE shows are off this weekend.

The company was set to run Toronto on Saturday night and Youngstown on Sunday.

The Coca-Cola Coliseum issued the following statement on Thursday night:

The WWE Live Road to WrestleMania SuperShow event scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto has been cancelled. Refunds are available at all points of purchase.

Below is the statement issued from the Covelli Centre on the arena’s Facebook page:

In accordance with the proclamation issued by Governor DeWine, the WWE live event scheduled for this Sunday, March 15 in Youngstown, Ohio has been canceled. Refunds are available at all points of purchase.

Earlier in the day, WWE confirmed that Friday Night SmackDown would not take place from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Instead, the show will take place from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida, and air on Fox at 8 pm Eastern.

There is no word yet on any shows beyond this weekend with the next major show taking place Monday night with Raw at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
