Originally published at WWE Raw finishes seventh on cable, increases from last week's figures
With the episode promoted around Roman Reigns with two matches involving the SmackDown star, WWE Raw finished seventh for the night on cable.
The September 20th edition of Raw averaged 1,793,000 viewers and 642,000 (0.49) in the 18-49 demographic, per Showbuzz Daily and Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics.
The numbers were up 7 percent in overall viewers and 15 percent in the 18-49 demographic, with Raw finishing sixth for the night among cable. It was still Raw’s third-lowest figures since the return of live fans in July.
The show started with 1,860,000 and 0.51 in the first hour, it stayed steady at 1,853,000 and 0.51 in the second hour and fell to 1,667,000 and 0.46 in the third hour. From the first to the third hour, they fell 10.3 percent in viewers and 10 percent in 18-49.
The show increased by 21 percent with adults 25-54, 18.5 percent with adults 18-34, and 17 percent among males 12-34 from last week. Throughout the episode, the female 12-34 grew from 0.19 to 0.25 or 31.5 percent, which is a sizable growth throughout the show. The male 18-49 demo dropped 14.5 percent throughout the show.
This week’s Monday Night Football game saw the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions average 11,901,000 on ESPN. They also went against Dancing with the Stars on ABC featuring The Miz, which was #2 among network programs with 0.92 in 18-49 and 5,466,000 viewers.
Raw was promoted around Roman Reigns & The Usos coming to Raw to face the New Day. Later in the show, they announced a Triple Threat Match involving Reigns, Big E., and Bobby Lashley to close the show.
In Canada, it was strange as we received two separate numbers for Raw but were told the accurate ones were 184,000 viewers and 91,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. It is Raw’s lowest number in Canada since July 5th, but I would dismiss this given all the attention on the federal election coverage on Monday night and the usual competition from the Toronto Blue Jays.
