Monday’s episode of WWE Raw from the empty Performance Center took a major hit across the board down 14% in viewership and registering its lowest figure of 2020.

The three-hour show averaged 2,006,000 viewers. The only episodes in recent years to do lower included a taped show from December 23rd last year, and the episodes on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in 2018.

The third hour averaged 1,726,000 viewers and was the second-lowest third hour in Raw’s history.

The story this week was there was less interest from the start with only 2,289,000 viewers tuning in for the first hour. Without something to get their attention last the re-airing of the Royal Rumble last week, the show fell 12.5% in the second hour to 2,004,000 and then dropped 14% in the third hour.

From hour one to hour three, the overall drop was 25%.

It’s hard to put a lot of stock into television ratings for WWE as the news is dominating people’s interest and this show felt like a sign that fewer people were looking for wrestling as a distraction as they were last week.

This also comes days after Friday Night SmackDown did its second-highest viewership of 2020, so it’s hard to say what the audience is seeking. They did not advertise much for this week’s Raw, but in hindsight, airing the women’s Royal Rumble may have been worth trying after the success of last week’s number.

The 18-49 demo was 0.61 and down 20% from last week. Every major demo was down by large figures with females 12-34 down 24%, males 12-34 down 23%, and males 18-49 also down 23%. Adults over 50 were only down 9% and the demo impacted least.

From hour one to hour three, females 18-49 dropped 32%, adults 25-54 fell 31%, and males 12-34 were down 28%. Females 12-34 held up the best of the key demos and only experienced a 10% drop from the first hour to the last.
