WWE has stated that over 90,000 tickets have been sold for WrestleMania 40, exceeding the total gross of last year’s events.
In a press release issued on Monday, WWE announced that it surpassed last year’s total gross of $21.6 million. It is worth noting that industry site Pollstar lists last year’s ticketing revenue at $19,749,071, although it is common practice that WWE includes ticketing fees with their final figures.
Last year’s show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California drew 63,243 on the first night and 64,288 on the second night.
WWE is claiming an all-time gate record for the amount grossed for next April’s event but is using two events as a comparison when WrestleMania was only a one-day event until expanding in 2020. The all-time single-day gate record for the company is WrestleMania 32 in April 2016 which had a gate of $17.3 million at AT&T Stadium.
In Monday’s press release, WWE added:
On Location has sold more fan experience packages for WrestleMania 40 than all of WrestleMania 39 and broke the all-time revenue record for a single WWE event in this area.
WrestleMania 40 takes place on April 6 & 7, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The city will host WrestleMania for the second time, having previously staged the event in 1999.
