Headlining the 7/30 episode of SmackDown in Minnesota was Zelina Vega and Carmella versus SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and the returning Sasha Banks. Belair and Banks got the win and as they were celebrating, Banks hit Belair with a ‘Backstabber’ and then proceeded to lock in the ‘Banks Statement’ several different times. This was Sasha’s first match since WrestleMania 37 where she lost the SmackDown Women’s Title to Bianca.

Finn Balor met Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the ring for a contract signing to make their match for the Universal Title at SummerSlam official. Baron Corbin ambushed Balor before he could sign which led to John Cena ultimately signing the contract and getting the title match.

On the 8/6 SmackDown in Tampa, Balor is taking on Corbin.

Shinsuke Nakamura pinned Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews in a six-man tag. Nakamura, Big E and Cesaro defeated Crews, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

The 24/7 Title was on the line as Reginald defended against Chad Gable. Otis interfered in the match and attacked Reginald.
