@johnpollock you mentioned how Impact can reach a worldwide audience with their Twitch streams but unfortunately that’s not quite the case.

I’m from the UK and to my surprise last week’s stream was region locked (i didn’t try yesterday). Twitch’s region locking even recognises VPNs so i had no way of watching. It’s a shame as when they announced the Twitch broadcasts i was interested in getting back into Impact again, especially as i watch Twitch regularly anyway. If they’re blocking out a major viewing region like the UK, i can’t imagine there are many countries outside of USA/Canada who can watch it.

This explains why the viewing figures were around 10k - i saw the stream at that number and it was lower than i was expecting. For comparison House of Hardcore’s last live event on Twitch peaked at 9.6k and averaged 7.2k. If you’re interested, this is a good site for seeing viewing numbers by channel, category etc: https://sullygnome.com/game/Wrestling/365/peakviewers

I believe it’s geo blocked in the UK, Ireland, South Africa and Mexico because of the existing TV deals there.

It definitely is available outside Canada and the US as they listed the top countries that watched last week and included Australia, Brazil, and Germany among the top countries.

Speaking of geo blocking, is the video supposed to be unlisted on YouTube?

I didn’t make it public yesterday and the news is a bit dated now, so yeah. You can still view the video on the show post tho.
