95% of their shows are free. Wtf do you want them to charge for? They need to put something on the patreon.

So PPVs make up 5% of WWE shows?

All free. If you need more than that, you’re just greedy. These guys work their asses off to provide quality content. They could easily put most of their stuff on the patreon, if they wanted to.

Not that I feel a need to justify where we put our content, but SSD was also sandwiched between Eggshells and the UFC229 review on the free feed Saturday.

I’m not trying to sound greedy I’m just surprised that something that was usually free now isn’t

I guess it hasn’t been clarified that this was a one-off since it was the same day as UFC229 and also somewhat seen as an extra large house-show. John and Wai will probably confirm that most future PPV and Takeover reviews will continue to be free.

You have to remember this is John and Wai’s full time job, if they give everything away for free then they would have to find other employment and then the shows they do would be reduced massively because as they’ve stated before it will just be a hobby in their spare time.

John Pollock is one of the best wrestling reporters out there and other major wrestling sites(observer, pwinsider, torch etc…) charge for 95% of their audio(which I don’t blame them for) including Raw & Smackdown reviews.

The amount of audio John & Wai put on the free feed is pretty incredible, 17 free shows of an hour plus last month and that’s not including UpNXT and BWE, I don’t know of anybody else who does this full time giving away that much free content.

We did the same thing for the last Saudi Arabia show and will do so again for Crown Jewel. We consider these overseas specials to be hit-and-miss in terms of essentiality to main storylines. Although that might change in the future, for now, we like having them as Patreon bonus shows to entice people to sample the Patreon.

All other monthly WWE PPVs, including Evolution, will continue to be released on the free feed.

17 free shows??? What are we thinking?
