AEW Dynamite finished #1 on cable Wednesday night for the go-home edition of the show before Forbidden Door.

The June 22nd edition of the show from Milwaukee averaged 878,000 viewers and approximately 404,000 (0.31) in the 18-48 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The show was coming off its lowest figures of the year last week and saw a 15 percent gain with overall viewers and an 11 percent jump in the key demo.

The 18-49 number was strong enough to top cable but was still Dynamite’s second-lowest of 2022. The show edged out Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the top spot on cable.

Dynamite aired against Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on ABC, which averaged 4,599,000 viewers and 1.31 in 18-49.

AEW saw a big rebound with its female viewership with women 18-49 increasing 44 percent this week and more than doubling its female 12-34 viewership from last week.

With adults 18-34, they increased 41 percent from last week and their highest in the category since June 1st.

Of the key demos, the only decrease was seen among males 12-34 which fell by 13 percent this week.

Adults 50+ increased by 24 percent and helped boost the show’s overall viewership.

In Canada, Dynamite averaged approximately 63,000 viewers on TSN 2 airing against the Stanley Cup Final and would be Dynamite’s lowest viewership in the country since April 27th.

Dynamite featured Jon Moxley & Hiroshi Tanahashi teaming against Chris Jericho & Lance Archer in the main event, an update on the status of Bryan Danielson, and several unadvertised appearances by New Japan’s Kazuchika Okada, Minoru Suzuki, and Zack Sabre Jr.

Next week’s episode following Forbidden Door is a big edition of Dynamite featuring the second Blood & Guts match as AEW makes its debut in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena.

Still first on cable, I like it.
