Originally published at AEW Dynamite hits highest demo figure in over two months, #2 on cable
Following its Double or Nothing pay-per-view, AEW finished second on cable with their best 18-49 number in over two months.
The promotion’s first card in California at The Forum in Inglewood averaged 969,000 viewers and approximately 520,000 (0.40) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

It was the show’s highest viewership since April 13th and the best demo figure since March 23rd.
The lack of NBA competition and buzz from the pay-per-view led to a four percent increase in viewership and a 14 percent jump in the 18-49 demo.
The show ranked second among cable originals behind the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Rangers game that averaged 2,363,000 viewers and 0.75 in the demo on ESPN.
It was a strong increase for its male audience with men 18-49 increasing by 27 percent while females in the demo dropped eight percent from last week.
In the 12-34 demo, males increased from 0.20 to. 0.24 while females fell from 0.17 to 0.14.
In the 18-34 demo, they saw an uptick of four percent while adults 35-54 were up by 20 percent.
Dynamite was heavily advertised around MJF speaking after last weekend’s events leading into the pay-per-view match against Wardlow. His segment was featured in the first hour after the opening Trios match. It was also the company’s debut in Southern California with approximately 14,000 people attending the card at the Kia Forum.
Next week’s episode of Dynamite will not be so lucky as it airs against Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics.
In Canada, the sports programming was dominated by the NHL game and a Toronto Blue Jays game with Dynamite finished outside of the top ten sports programs with approximately 75,000 viewers on TSN 2. They fell 10 percent in viewership from the previous week.
