Wednesday’s head-to-head battle saw AEW top NXT again in total viewership and with the key demographics with Dynamite finishing third among all cable programs for the evening.

Both shows saw dips in their viewership from the week prior with AEW Dynamite averaging 828,000 viewers and a 0.34 in the 18-49 demo with those figures down 5% and 3% respectively. NXT averaged 712,000 viewers and a 0.22, which declined 7% and 8%.

It was notable that last week’s taped episode of Dynamite outperformed this week’s live version from Cleveland, Ohio. AEW saw increases among adults 18-34 by 15% and males 12-34 were way up with a 25% increase from last week. The largest declines were among adults over 50 and people 18-34 down 15% and people 25-54 dropped 12%.

AEW finishing third for the night among cable programs is significant as they edged out the NBA game between Detroit and Brooklyn, which did have more total viewers with 876,000 but AEW won in the 18-49 demo 0.34 to 0.33.

NXT still topped AEW with adults over 50 by a margin of 0.36 to 0.29. NXT was down among all the key demos with women 12-34 dropping 36%, adults 18-34 falling 22%, and males 18-34 down 12.5% as the largest declines.
