With another time slot change, AEW Rampage finished #13 among cable programs while increasing its audience from the previous week’s earlier start time.
The May 20th taped edition from Houston averaged 410,000 viewers and approximately 196,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
This past Friday’s show aired at 7 p.m. ET due to TNT’s coverage of the Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks. The later start time proved more effective than the previous two weeks where it began at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The show grew 21 percent in overall viewers and 26 percent in the 18-49 demo compared to last week’s show at 5:30.
They did fall by 11.5 percent among females 18-49 but grew 37.5 percent with males in the same demo.
The 18-34 audience was identical to the prior week with adults 35-49 jumping by 36 percent.
The last time Rampage aired at 7 p.m. ET on the station was on April 15th when they averaged 482,000 and 288,000 (0.22) in 18-49, so they were down with the apple-to-apples comparison with the same time slot one month prior.
The cable numbers were led by the NBA game that averaged 6,765,000 viewers and 2.11 in 18-49 on TNT with two NHL playoff games and coverage of the PGA Championship among the top ten cable originals on Friday.
The show was headlined by Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley defeating Dante Martin & Matt Sydal and featured an Owen Hart Cup tournament match between Kris Statlander and Red Velvet among the featured matches.
During Friday’s broadcast, they advertised this coming week’s show for a 5:30 p.m. ET start time but Dave Meltzer reports that the start time could change depending on the NHL’s schedule.
The start time for Friday's Rampage is up in the air. They announced 5:30 p.m. on Friday, but it depends on hockey and there are multiple possible scenarios.
