WWE star Big E. (Ettore Ewen) provided the latest update on his recovery from a broken neck.

Unfortunately for the performer, his C1 vertebrae is not healing as expected, and will reassess the state of his neck next year.

Update! My C1 isn’t ossifying (forming bone) quite yet. The current plan is to get more scans at the one year mark & see how it’s progressing. The great news is I feel tremendous & surgery is off the table.

Ewen suffered a broken C1 and C6 vertebrae after landing on his head during the March 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown from a belly-to-belly suplex on the floor.

Ewen noted at the time that that was no ligament or spinal cord damage and did not require surgery. In his latest update, he said the injury still doesn’t require surgery.

We wish Ewen as speedy a process as possible as he continues to recover from the injury.
