Carmelo Hayes is the second winner of the Breakout tournament.
In the finals of the 2021 NXT Breakout tournament, Odyssey Jones met Carmelo Hayes and the two talents went one-on-one on the 8/24 episode of NXT. The final sequence of the match saw Jones hook Carmelo’s leg for a pin with his back facing his opponent. Carmelo was able to pull Jones over and kept him pinned down for the three count.
With his victory, Carmelo now has the opportunity to compete for any championship in NXT. The NXT Champion is Samoa Joe, Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott is the North American Champion and KUSHIDA is the Cruiserweight Champion.

Since arriving in NXT, Hayes has had matches with the likes of KUSHIDA and Adam Cole. He bested Duke Hudson, Josh Briggs and finally Odyssey Jones to win the Breakout tournament.
