Cody Rhodes will challenge for the TNT Championship on Christmas night.
Rhodes interrupted an interview segment with current champion Sammy Guevara to announce that Tony Khan has made the match for the December 25th ‘Holiday Bash’ edition of AEW Rampage.
Earlier this week, Khan noted that Rampage would air on a special Saturday night on Christmas as opposed to its regular Friday night airing.
Rhodes was the first-ever TNT champion and defeated Lance Archer in the tournament to crown the inaugural holder at Double or Nothing in May 2020. Rhodes is a two-time champion, losing the title to the late Brodie Lee in August of last year and regaining it in October 2020.
The ‘Holiday Bash’ edition of Rampage will be taped at the Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday, December 22nd.
