AEW has a prime opportunity here. They need to give the fans what they want. They need to give us a cuck angle between Penelope, Sabian & Janela.

Seriously though, I loved the show, but holy hell was this crowd terrible. Stage looked great. Best matches were the last 2 and the Bucks/PNP. I thought the finish of Cody/Jericho was brilliant and a good way to continue building for the turn, but they went with it tonight. As long as MJF gets more time to shine, Iā€™m alright with it.

Tully Blanchard is amazing. This guy needs a stable so bad. Heā€™s constantly a highlight for me. If he were to manage a couple more guys, who would you like to see with him?

Brenden from California

I missed most of the first four matches because of streaming issues. But the Bucks match looked good between bouts of buffering.

Cody and Jericho was the probably the most importance Iā€™ve felt from a title match in years. Everyone did a great job making this match and title feel huge.

I knew prior to the match that this would be the best time to have MJF screw Cody, but they went a totally different direction than I expected. Though it might have felt more logical if Cody abandoned MJF and started walking away before the turn.

Moxley/Omega wasā€¦ well it was a hardcore match, albeit a good one. I loved Moxley having to crawl through the glass to pull himself out of the Scorpion Deathlock. Plus we got a bunch of interesting gimmicks. A good way to end the show.

Solid 7/10 show tonight. Opening tag was fun, especially with the the Rock N Roll Express spot at the end, and really enjoyed PAC vs. Hangman. Cody and Jericho told a great story, but Iā€™m very mixed on the finish. Iā€™ll let it play out before judging further. The main event was everything fans were probably expecting out of this and a whole lot more. Personally, not my style of match, but seeing it on such a big stage was quite the experience. I never want to see anything like it again, but I do think itā€™ll be near the top of my match of the year list. Someone please check on Renee Young. She seemed concerned

Joey from Queens,

Very good show, however I did have my issues.

The womenā€™s title match was probably the best night of Sakura and Rihoā€™s careers due to the story they share however I found it very hard to care about the match because the build just wasnā€™t there.

The Omega Moxley match was a car crash and that style of wrestling may work for other people but I really donā€™t want to watch 2 grown men find every appliance and dangerous object they can kind a legitimately try and kill each other. However I canā€™t say the match wasnā€™t entertaining at points.

The show was overall a positive with some killer matches on the undercard but I would be wrong to say that this show couldnā€™t have been better.

Overall Grade: 8 out of 10

Thought this was the weakest major AEW show so far, though that doesnā€™t mean it was bad. I just thought a lot of the matches didnā€™t peak as high as I expected.

The crowd was certainly a factor. I tuned into the New Japan San Jose show as soon as Full Gear ended and the great crowd heat there drew an immediate contrast with the Baltimore crowd.

Like Jericho vs. Cody but I thought they could have drawn out the MJF turn a little longer.

Thought Moxley vs. Omega was the best match of the show but if they had wrestled a hard hitting match more along the lines of Moxleyā€™s matches in New Japan with Juice and Ishii I think it would have been even better. While still great, I thought the match still suffered from the problem you get in a lot of death matches where they spend a lot of time setting up spots.

Man, another kick ass show from AEW. Pretty much sticking with this promotion and will just listen to you guys for the WWE stuff. Every match had a clear meaning and the ending mattered. Jericho/Cody was some classic storytelling that Cody has been great at over the past year or so. Dude is the top babyface in the industry right now. Glad we got the MJF turn, now they can focus on making him the top heel in the company.

Moxley/Omega was a MOTY candidate for me. Just great stuff all around. You really got the feeling that these 2 hated each other throughout the match and they did some really innovative things with out relying on traditional hardcore tropes.

9/10.

Unbelievable show, loved everything aside from the Janela-Spears match, felt a bit long. That main event was insane, one of the best hardcore matches Iā€™ve seen on such a large platform, 9/10 show from me. Absolutely worth $50. With TLC coming up in a couple months, no chance they put on a match like we saw tonight right? Lol

Solid show, but it didnā€™t seem to kick into gear until the last two matches. The tag opener was good, but felt like a weaker offering than we have gotten from that division.
I donā€™t mind the ā€˜throwing in the towelā€™ gimmick and lights out stip, but I am predicting the internet will hate it.
And Britt Bakerā€¦ Iā€™m done with her. I wanted to like her but sheā€™s sloppy and has no charisma.

I felt this was an average show up until those last two matches, both of which I loved for completely different reasons. Cody and Jericho was an old school southern wrestling style brawl with some great storytelling, and I canā€™t wait to see what happens next with Cody and MJF. Hopefully this also means more promo time for MJF, something that has been sorely missed on Dynamite. I expected the last match to be an entertaining and bloody spot fest, but I did not expect it to be that crazy. This was CZW level Jon Moxley in both the best and worst ways. Based on Reneeā€™s Twitter reactions, Mox might be sleeping on the couch for awhile. 8/10.

While I did enjoy most of the show, itā€™s probably my least favorite PPV AEW has done so far. Iā€™m not sure if the crowd was not as hyped as usual or if it wasnā€™t micā€™d properly, but it was very silent at times.

I liked the opening match though I donā€™t think it needed to go 20 minutes long. I didnā€™t understand the point of having the ref being so hard on PnP at the beginning. It almost made the Bucks look like the Heels in this scenario. Same thing for the spitting gum spot. The ref later allowed PnP to tag with a slap to the foot when he had admonished them earlier for the same thing

Pac vs Paige was my match of the night. Both guys looked great, the match kept moving and a strong win for Paige was welcomed.

I liked Shawn Spears and Tully distracting the ref to cheat. I think the tieing the hair spot should only be done in a no DQ match since the ref could easily count to 5 before Spears was done with the spot.

The tag title match was fun and kept pretty short which I enjoyed. Wasnā€™t a big fan of Daniels doing the Jericho special of the blackout and appearing dressed as Pentagon Jr.

I liked the fast paced spots in the Riho vs Sakura match although Rihoā€™s knee strikes and double foot stomp look like they do no damage due to her small size.

Cody vs Jericho. I thought this would be my match of the night, but I feel they never kicked into the next gear. It started slow and never really picked up except for Cody killing himself on the ramp which was amazing and frightening at the same time. The blood added drama to the match. The MJF turn was expected but Iā€™m looking forward to great promos from him and Cody.

Hated the main event. I was done with it halfway through when Moxley brought in the silly mousetraps and then the glass spots were disgusting. Moxleyā€™s back afterwards was a nightmare to look at. Nothing else could have brought me back after that.

Most of this card fell short for me. Iā€™m new to this company and a lot of this roster. Iā€™ve been listening to John and Wai for years, so Iā€™ve heard about a lot of them.
Iā€™m more of a casual wrestling fan. Donā€™t watch New Japan. Barely watch WWE up until lately.
I love watching AEW, but I need more background. Good wrestling is great. But if I donā€™t know the people doing it, or know the story about why these matches are happening, I have a hard time staying invested.
They canā€™t rely on YouTube to fill in the blanks. The show should make me want to go find that stuff. So far it feels like they expect the opposite.
It was a good show but itā€™s going to take more time for me to get to know this roster.
Btw, the woman facing Riho looks like sheā€™s wearing a variation of the Nova Scotian flag. Just my opinion.
Main event got hard to watch at times. The mouse traps didnā€™t come off very well.

Super dope show. Was drunk for most of it. So these thoughts arenā€™t gonna be the best. Main event was cool for what it was but super violent hardcore matches arenā€™t exactly my thing. So because of the whole unsanctioned thing theyā€™re not counting that as a win for Moxley right?

Do you think theyā€™ll use MJFā€™s turn as a way to give Cody an out for that stipulation? Sort of like a ā€œI never really lost, MJF made that decision for meā€ kinda thing?

Pac is amazing. Thereā€™s all my thoughts on him.

Canā€™t wait to hear your thoughts. Stay dope yā€™all.

Hey guys I went to the show. And what a show it was. I took my little brother who is 13 years old and really isnā€™t a wrestling fan like me, but boy did he have a fun time tonight. He told me that opener was the best match of the night for the intensity and in his words ā€œan old guy doing some flippy shit.ā€ Seeing him chant, scream, and gasp of all the action in the ring really made my night with him. Glad I could go and enjoy the show.

Matt from Pittsburgh

Being from Pittsburgh, I know a thing or two about bad crowds. This was definitely not a good one tonight and I feel like it really held back the show, particularly the womenā€™s title match.

Iā€™m not usually a fan of plunder/hardcore matches, but I found Moxley/Omega to be a fun match that ran right up the boundary of what Iā€™m willing to watch. Interestingly, this was the only match that gained my fianceeā€™s full and undivided attention.

A 7/10 show that could have scored higher with a more hyped crowd. Thanks for all your hard work, guys.

Definitely a good show. I voted 8 out of 10. I love AEW and could go on for 10 minutes about everything I loved so Iā€™m going to add my opinion about something I have been critical on about them so far. Before I do, let me say that Jim Ross has his worst night since being in AEW. I thought with weekly TV heā€™d be better and in more of a rhythm, and Iā€™m not saying he didnā€™t have some good calls but he also got lost numerous times and messed up a handful of names many times. At this point itā€™s unacceptable.
I have to say that I think they suffer from matches going a few minutes too long in many cases. And Iā€™d like to add Iā€™m a big NJPW fan so Iā€™m used to long matches. Numerous times we look back and point out a match or two on their shows that couldā€™ve been shortened. Bucks and Pride and Powerful went too long. I get the Bucks want to put on their NJPW big event 20+ minute matches where they sell a ton (Matt with the lower back in 2018) but I feel the length is why some of the big matches kind of fall flat near the end.

I Thought they would ride out the MJF/Cody turn for a few more months but apparently not. No doubt this will be a top angle on Wednesday that should add to an already great story. Iā€™d say Dustin would seek revenge for his younger brother but his arm got busted a few weeks ago. Is MJF a part of the inner Circle or is he a one man army? Hope you guys enjoyed the show

Wasnā€™t bored but also wasnā€™t overly thrilled with the show. 7/10 for me but was hoping itā€™d be higher. Janela vs Spears was just missing something for me. The women of AEW I still donā€™t enjoy at all either. Other than the smooth spinning reversals all I remember was a bunch of stomps. All the stips in the World Title match felt very WWE to me. Just screamed Cody is losing and somehow finds his way to another title shot. The ending was very good though. Mox vs Omega I still donā€™t know if I liked it. Violent to be violent. Keep up the good work John and Wai!
