Game Changer Wrestling’s WLRD on GCW event was its most successful show to stream on FITE TV.

This past Sunday’s card from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City was the company’s most ambitious to date and resulted in a sellout with over 2,000 fans attending the event, which was the largest for a pro wrestling event in the building’s history.

The event aired on both FITE TV and on traditional pay-per-view outlets.

FITE TV Chief Operating Officer Mike Weber confirmed to POST Wrestling that the show was the most purchased GCW event in FITE’s history:

GCW show did very well. This is the best show for them, not for FITE. We did 700,000 buys for the Tyson Jones fight from a year ago.

Weber is referencing the Mike Tyson exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. that took place in November 2020 and was deemed a major success at the time. The card took place from the Staples Center and featured Jake Paul on the card as well.

FITE did not specify the number of buys Sunday’s event has generated and traditional pay-per-view buys are unknown right now. The pay-per-view was available on FITE TV for $24.99 U.S.

The WLRD on GCW featured the main event where The Briscoes lost the GCW tag titles to the mystery team of Matt Tremont and the returning Nick Gage, who had not wrestled for GCW since last October. The event also featured Jon Moxley vs. Homicide, Effy vs. Jeff Jarrett, Matt Cardona vs. Joey Janela, and Ruby Soho vs. Allie Katch in featured matches.
