With coverage of the recent impeachment hearings, Friday Night SmackDown fell to its lowest mark on Fox since moving to the ThunderDome last August.

Last Friday’s episode finished 1,990,000 viewers and a 0.57 in the 18-49 demographic and was third among network programs that night. They trailed ABC’s editions of Shark Tank and 20/20.

On cable, coverage of the impeachment hearings occupied fifteen of the top twenty programs while the NBA game between the L.A. Lakers and Memphis topped the cable charts.

Excluding the episodes of SmackDown that aired on FS1 in October and December, it was SmackDown’s lowest viewership since August 14th – one week before moving to the ThunderDome and followed by the return of Roman Reigns to the program. In the 18-49 demo, it was SmackDown’s lowest figure since January 8, 2021.

In the 18-34 demo, SmackDown did a 0.35 and was second among network programs behind Shark Tank.

In Canada, SmackDown finished with 182,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360 and 95,200 in the 25-54 demographic. They were second among sports programming that night behind the Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers game, however, they were number one in the demographic.
