Former Ring of Honor and TNA talent Jimmy Rave took to social media to share the news that he is retiring from pro wrestling following his left arm being amputated. Jimmy noted that doctors found an infection in his arm but by the time he went to see a specialist about it, it was too late and his arm had to be amputated which has put an end to his career which began in the late 90s. Here’s Rave’s full statement:

I have been very blessed for the last 21 years in professional wrestling and getting to live out my dream. Today, that dream has ended for me and I have a new reality. This past Tuesday my world came crashing down when Doctors found an infection in my left arm. I tried toughing it out but by the time I saw a doctor it was too late and they had to amputate my left arm above the elbow. Thus effectively ending my in ring career.

I appreciate everyone who has supported me or anyone who has pegged me with a roll of toilet paper. To my brothers & sisters I have shared the ring with or a locker room; thank you for always pushing me to be better. Thank You to all of my mentors and my students who allow me to still feel needed. This was the hardest thing I have ever had to type. If you have questions or comments please feel free to DM me. Please take your health much more seriously than I did. I am sorry for anyone I have let down. Support pro wrestling! -Jimmy Rave

Jimmy Rave debuted in Ring of Honor in 2003 and took a break from the company in 2007 to venture to TNA. In 2009, Rave was released from TNA and over the following years, he would make two appearances for the company on a one night only basis.

At the age of 37 years old, the last time Jimmy wrestled was in December of 2019 for CZW at their ‘Cage of Death’ event. Rave was also in action last Summer for Game Changer Wrestling at their Homicide tribute show.

What a bummer. Jimmy Rave is a case of a guy who lacked the charisma and personality outside of the ring that negated how great in the ring he was.

That sucks, I can’t imagine loosing an arm. Wish the guy the best.

Terrible to hear. Likely another reminder for people to see their doctor more regularly (if they can, depending on what healthcare they have) and for promoters to clean their mats regularly (even before COVID-19, too many instances of wrestlers getting staph from dirty rings).

Furthermore, back in mid-00s, Jimmy Rave was the guy that people loved to hate in ROH, seeing him get his comeuppance from CM Punk and AJ Styles.
