After defeating Bayley on the January 17th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Lacey Evans earned herself an opportunity to challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble on January 26th.

Lacey was scheduled to take on Sasha Banks but after a backstage brawl between the two, Sasha was unable to compete. WWE Producer Adam Pearce made an on-screen appearance and told Bayley that she would be taking Sasha Banks’ place in the aforementioned match against Lacey. That match commenced and it concluded after Lacey Evans connected with a “Woman’s Right” that put Bayley down for the three count to secure the win and a championship opportunity at the Royal Rumble.
