Arez vs. Aramis

As Arez was making his way to the ring, a CONTRA Unit video interrupted with Mads Krugger calling out Alex Hammerstone and saying it’s his mission to end Hammerstone before Fightland, and that mission begins tonight. Both of these young luchadores are recently signed to MLW and have been battling each other for the better part of 8 years in Mexico as well as GCW and elsewhere. Arez smacks the attempted handshake to start the match as they begin the match working closely and countering each other’s holds and takedown attempts before attempting multiple pin attempts. They have a standoff after both trying an arm drag at the same time as the crowd chants for Lucha. They start fighting on the apron ending with Arez hitting a moonsault off the second turnbuckle to the outside on Aramis as they go to commercial.

As we come back, they are still fighting on the outside before heading back in where Arez tries to cover Aramis with one foot as Saint Laurent mentions both men being mentored by Konnan and Blue Demon Jr. They start trading kicks back and forth before Arez hits a Buckle Bomb that tosses Aramis to the outside. Aramis comes back with a bicycle kick, a German Suplex and a suicide dive to the outside. Back in, Aramis tries to jump off the top rope, but Arez heads to the outside where he receives a somersault plancha from Aramis off the ropes. Aramis hits a twisting splash for a 2 count. They trade more kicks until Arez hits a Michinoku Driver for a two count. Aramis comes back with a sit out powerbomb for two of his own. Arez comes back with a more innovative offense for two more counts. Arez sets up Aramis on the mat as he misses a Shooting Star Press, Aramis quickly grabs him and spins him around with a spinning torture rack into a powerbomb, which Aramis calls the Musketeer Educator for the three.

Winner: Aramis by pinfall at 11:50

They both embrace after the match as the fans cheer them on and throw money in the ring.

Adding to the Body Count

We see a video package on Jacob Fatu where he says he loves catching bodies in MLW so he can break a man’s neck, fracture their spine and watch a man bleed out and nobody will stop him, and they’ll be just another body to add to the body count as we see highlights of his past matches. He ends it by saying this is CONTRA Unit’s Kingdom and soon enough he’ll be dogwalking your ass all over MLW.

The Japanese Buzzsaw is Coming

We get a quick video saying that Tajiri is coming to MLW Fightland on October 7th on VICE TV, 10pm EST.

Don’t Cross the Boss

We see Cesar Duran who looks to be in some storage room while a masked luchador is going through black bags. Duran is on the phone and is telling the person on the other line that you can’t let the Renegades down and that it’s the right decision. Matt Cross walks in and says he wants an answer from Duran. Duran asks Cross if he wants recognition because he once beat a man who was the MLW World Heavyweight Champion. Cross says he deserves a shot at the title and Duran says he can get his title shot next week against Jacob Fatu as the masked luchador escorts Cross out.

Upcoming Fight Schedule

· October 2nd – MLW Philadelphia

· October 7th – MLW Fightland on Vice TV

· November 6th – MLW Intimidation Games – Philadelphia, PA

Alex Kane (w/ King Mo) vs. Budd Heavy

This is Alex Kane’s MLW debut, and he is presented as having 100+ suplexes in his arsenal, a 2021 Open Draft standout and recruited by ONE Championship Fighting for MMA. They show a tweet from Kane saying that he was offended he wasn’t selected for the 2021 Opera Cup and there will be consequences. Kane attacks Heavy right as the bell hits with a splash in the corner and a big clothesline. Kane follows it with kicks and heavy chops followed by a toss suplex as the crowd tries to rally behind Heavy. King Mo has cards keeping count of the suplexes, as Kane lifts up Heavy from the pin attempt. Kane follows with a snap mare and a couple punt kicks to the back. Heavy tries to fight back, but Kane quickly stops him and hits another suplex. Kane hits a couple running forearms and hits a ripcord Olympic suplex and pins Heavy with his foot on his chest for the win.

Winner: Alex Kane by pinfall at 3:07

As Kane is leaving, Budd Heavy throws up middle fingers so Kane comes in and hits an exploder suplex, German Suplex and another ripcord Olympic suplex before the referees run in to stop this.

The Judge

Alicia Atout is backstage with former NXT superstar (Ezra Judge) and newly signed to MLW wrestler, EJ Nduka. Nduka says it felt good to get the most eliminations in a single match at Battle Riot III. Nduka says he is what he says he was, as advertised and The Judge is built for this, and he is planning to show up and show out.

Warning: 5150

We have a video from 5150 where Konnan says he has unleashed these animals on Injustice. Rivera says you want to talk about injustice, let’s talk about the injustice on the Latino community for years and them being held back and Myron Reed and Jordan Oliver are not ready for them. Julius Smokes chimes in how Injustice is scared, and Slice Boogie says he’s going to slap the shit out of them.

Fightland Control Center

They advertise Fightland airing October 7th on Vice TV after Dark Side of the Ring with ‘the most anticipated title fight of the year’ with Jacob Fatu vs. Alex Hammerstone for both the MLW World Heavyweight and National Openweight Championships. They also announce a 4-way match for the MLW Middleweight Championship as Myron Reed defends against Aramis, Arez and the debuting Tajiri. They mention how it was originally Reed vs. Tajiri, but Cesar Duran was so impressed with their match earlier, that he added Aramis and Arez to make it a four way. They also mentioned Alicia Atout will host MLW Embedded that night and will be joined by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. and others going over the big news of the week in pro wrestling.

Bobby Fish is Coming Soon

We get a black and red video for Bobby Fish that says this fall there will be kicks and there will be knockouts and Bobby Fish is coming soon to MLW.

Commentary mentions they were handed a note from the office of Cesar Duran and says they were so impressed by Alex Kane that he has become the first alternate position in the Opera Cup if someone were to get injured, he would take their spot.

MLW National Openweight Championship: Alex Hammerstone (c) vs. Tom Lawlor

As the bell rings, the crowd is chanting for Hammerstone, and Lawlor goes right for the single leg takedown on Hammerstone. Hammerstone powers out but Lawlor goes to the ropes to break it up. Lawlor comes back with kicks to the thighs, but Hammerstone catches him as they head to the corner. Hammerstone comes back with shoulder tackles that knocks Lawlor to the outside where he circles around the ring to regroup. Lawlor uses the ropes to try and take out Hammerstone but gets thrown to the outside again, Hammerstone follows him, and they start fighting on the outside. Hammerstone press slams Lawlor face first onto the apron as we start seeing some CONTRA Unit interruption on the feed. Back inside, Lawlor takes advantage after an eye rake. They fight outside a bit more until they go back inside where Lawlor works on the arms of Hammerstone on the ropes before choking him out in the corner with his feet, but Hammerstone powers out and throws Lawlor back outside. They start brawling again as Lawlor slams Hammerstone’s arm on the ring post. Back inside, Lawlor starts kicking away, but Hammerstone comes back up and they trade strikes. Lawlor tries an armbar, but Hammerstone quickly grabs the ropes. They get up and trade more strikes, but Lawlor takes Hammerstone down with kicks. Hammerstone grabs Lawlor’s leg and picks him up, but Lawlor reverses it into a choke before Hammerstone grabs the rope. Lawlor is able to take Hammerstone down and attempts a crossface. Hammerstone gets up and hits a swinging uranage. Hammerstone runs the ropes and takes clothesline Lawlor down before hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex on Lawlor for a two count. Lawlor blocks the Nightmare Pendulum and hits a kick before calling for Team Filthy to come out. Hammerstone notices this hits a big boot and a German Suplex on Lawlor followed by a powerbomb for a two count. Hammerstone followed with the Nightmare Pendulum for the pin and the win.
