Pro Wrestling NOAH wrapped up its N-1 Victory tournament on Sunday with Katsuhiko Nakajima and Kaito Kiyomiya meeting in the final.
The final in Osaka saw Nakajima win the tournament defeating Kiyomiya to conclude the three-week-long tour.
Sunday’s card also saw Daisuke Harada & Atsushi Kotoge win the GHC junior heavyweight tag titles from Yoshinari Ogawa & Hayata, who had been the champions since May.
The N-1 Victory tournament, previously marketed as the Global League, was re-named last year and featured 12 competitors spread out in the two blocks.
Kiyomiya, 24, won the A Block with seven points ahead of current GHC champion Go Shiozaki (6), Masaaki Mochizuki (5), and a tie between Manabu Soya, Kazushi Sakuraba, and Masa Kitamiya with four points each.
While losing in the final, Kiyomiya did score a victory over Shiozaki in their non-title tournament match. Shiozaki is on his fourth reign as champion and defeated Kiyomiya this past January to regain the title.
Nakajima, 32, was the B Block winner with eight points finishing above Takashi Sugiura (7), last year’s winner Kenoh (6), Naomichi Marufuji (5), Shuhei Taniguchi (4), and Yoshiki Inamura (0).
The tournament victory by Nakajima sets up a GHC championship match against Shiozaki on November 22nd.
