Nemeth captures the title.

The vacant AAA Mega Championship was on the line at Triplemanía XXXII in Monterrey. The two talents competing for the title were Nic Nemeth and Alberto El Patron.

The final sequence of the match saw Patron send Nemeth out of the ring and as he was attempting to dive to the outside, Nemeth threw water in his face. He got back in the ring and gave Patron a low blow and finished him off with the ‘Danger Zone’ to become champion.

AAA’s Mega Championship had been in El Hijo del Vikingo’s possession for several years, but he had to relinquish the title due to a ruptured ligament and torn meniscus injury.

Nemeth is also in possession of New Japan’s IWGP Global Championship.

Nemeth looking to follow in Cardona’s footsteps?

I think it’s great that everybody outside WWE is allowed to work Indies, international, etc. But there’s no doubt that the right guy with the right mindset, when separated from WWE exclusivity after a long time, can make an absolute killing working the independent circuit.
