As New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 15 was on break to clean the ring, ads played and one of the ads was to announce that New Japan will be USA and UK TV “soon”.

There was no further information provided and following the break, NJPW announcer Chris Charlton echoed similar sentiments that more information will come about when it may. It was first reported by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline on 1/3 that NJPW was very close to closing a USA television deal.

AXS TV carried New Japan Pro-Wrestling events from 2014-2019 but the relationship ended once Anthem Sports & Entertainment acquired AXS. IMPACT Wrestling is under the Anthem umbrella and IMPACT airs weekly on AXS on Tuesdays.

As more information about New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s television deals become available, we’ll continue to update you here on POST Wrestling.

It’s going to be a challenge trying to fit in with an industry that already has gained ground with the craft they are competing in.

I would welcome it of course.

It’ll be interesting to see who picks up NJPW in the UK or if the deal even materialises. Hopefully it ends up on a Freeview channel and not behind a pay wall.

I was thinking about this, assuming it won’t be on BT or Premier/Freesports due to them having Wrestling already.

Not sure when AEW’'s contract with ITV ends because I’m sure Sky will want AEW

If not, NJPW could show up on Sky Sports plus they may be able to run shows on Sky Box Office.

I’m guessing Eurosport
