I watched the entire Great Muta Final Bye Bye show on a whim late Saturday night. Agreed that Hakushi was incredible. Also worth seeing from this card were Timothy Thatcher vs. Masaaki Mochizuki, and apparently the first ever women’s match in NOAH history. Thank you so much for that recap of the post-main event promo.

Agreed on all counts regarding the Okada/Kiyomiya angle. I really, -REALLY- hope that this angle and match gives Kiyomiya something more concrete and long-lasting to build upon than “the next Misawa” or “the kid Mutoh just can’t give a proper rub to”.

Also, all the kudos to Jinsei Shinzaki for an amazing entrance and having his bump card at the ready. Thinking back, Hakushi was probably the first Japanese wrestler I ever saw who wasn’t saddled with the usual racist “evil foreigner” BS and I loved his matches with Bret as a kid. Would be nice to see him port this appearance into some work at places with a bit more profile than Michinoku Pro.

…And thanks very much for flagging the hilarity of the post-card shenanigans. I watched the whole show but tuned out before getting to see that comedy of errors.
