Following sexual assault allegations on Thursday night by wrestler Liz Savage, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has announced the resignation of vice-president David Lagana and a halt to productions.

The NWA issued the following statement on Friday:

Pursuant to allegations made by pro wrestler Liz Savage on her Twitter account, 6/18/2020, NWA VP David Lagana has resigned his position, effective immediately. As well all production of NWA content is temporarily halted, pending a restructuring of executive management positions.

Well here’s my #SpeakingOut which happened when I moved to California for wrestling. Essentially this was a big part of why I took my hiatus. pic.twitter.com/oetOYaVPxD

Savage stated she had moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and began living with Lagana, who had promised her work through the NWA Hollywood promotion. Savage stated she shared a bed with Lagana but they never had a sexual relationship.

Savage alleges that she woke up one night to find Lagana’s down her pants underneath her underneath while touching himself. She tossed herself around pretending to be asleep and it stopped. She claims he kicked her out of the place that week.

POST Wrestling did reach out to Lagana on Thursday and will update this story if he takes the opportunity to respond to the allegations.

The NWA had suspended production when the COVID-19 shutdown began but had recently begun producing content for their new Carnyland project on Patreon and YouTube.

Not surprised here. But Im glad to see that NWA was quick to respond to this.

The release says he resigned. Whether he was pushed or jumped is anyone’s guess.

I’d be surprised if the NWA survives this. Lagana basically did all the editing and production for them

That would be a shame. It’s the only promotion I was still watching.
