NXT 2.0 had a better week improving from last week’s disappointing number that followed the War Games special.

The December 14th episode finished #36 among cable original on Wednesday with 561,000 viewers and approximately 176,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The viewership average was actually down 5 percent from last week but the 18-49 number grew by 19 percent after last week’s surprisingly low figure of 148,000 in the key demo, which was NXT’s second-lowest demo audience on the USA Network since its Sept. 2019 premiere.

This was more of a bounce back from last week’s low as the NXT numbers were still on the low end and below the average for November (614,000 viewers and 184,000 in 18-49).

Compared with last week, NXT grew from 0.05 to 0.09 in adults 18-34 (80 percent), increased by 28.5 percent in males 18-49, and were up by 12.5 percent among females 18-49. Of the demos monitored by Showbuzz Daily, each category grew double-digits from the prior week except Adults 50+ that declined by 8.5 percent.

The major competition came from the Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks game that topped cable with 2,349,000 viewers and 0.79 in 18-49 on TNT.

The show was promoted around the in-ring debut of Harland, a match between Bron Breakker and Roderick Strong, and opened with a No Holds Barred match between Cameron Grimes and Duke Hudson.

In Canada, NXT 2.0 fell to 43,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360 from last week’s average of 49,000.

Maybe interest was up following last week’s write-offs.
